Explanation of Blast Manual and Blasts 1-24
This manual accompanies The Picture Bible published by David C. Cook and is available through Bible Blast - Discipling Families at BibleBlast.com. It is divided into 24 sections, each having nine/ten stories per section. This allows for a school, church or home curriculum to use it weekly, planning for all holidays to be excluded, much like the typical school year.
Each section is called a “Blast” and has an introduction entitled, “Hey Kids.” These are small devotionals that capture the emphasis of the stories that week. The child is challenged to personally identify with the lessons and walk out what they learn each week.
The questions are coded into three levels. The levels are Pre-K through Kindergarten, 1st through 2nd grade, and lastly, 3rd through 5th grade.
The symbol ( ) is given to Pre-K through Kindergarten.
The questions for the youngest group ( ) are largely from a specific picture in The Picture Bible. This format was designed to make it as concrete as possible for the little ones. The youngest groups have simple one-word answers that in almost all cases can be referenced to a picture.
A ( ) is given for the 1st through 2nd grade.
The second level ( ) of children are given all the questions asked in the previous group as well as ten additional questions. The emphasis in this group is on Bible concepts, not just rote facts.
All questions are applicable for the older grades of 3rd through 5th. Some questions require multiple answers.
