Quizzing

By participating in Bible Blast, you have the opportunity to read to your children the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is found in all sixty-six books of the Bible. Bible Blast provides a way to lead your children into a lifestyle of studying and meditating on God’s word daily.

The impact that parents have when their children see THEM praying and meditating on God’s word is priceless. The parents are the head coaches when teaching their children how to pray and glean from the Word of God. The Bible Blast program provides the tools for your family to do just that. Keep in mind that “daily reading” can mean anywhere from 10-30 minutes per session. It should be easy to fit into a daily schedule.

The following are requests that are the backbone of the Bible Blast program:

  1. Please do not send your child away to read by themselves. Read TO your children, no matter the age, so they may take in every picture and idea. The parents that do not “get” Bible Blast are those that consider this to be a reading assignment for the child. Boasting that your child goes to their room and comes out prepared all on their own, defeats the purpose of YOU, the parent, transferring YOUR faith. YOUR words and actions are powerful.

  2. Please do not begin the Bible Blast weekly preparation one day before or the day of the weekly meeting time. DAILY Bible reading is the goal. Remember, what you want for them tomorrow must be done before them today.

  3. Please do not neglect reading because you “know” the answers to the questions. Repetition is the mother of learning. Just as we receive new insight from the Holy Spirit when we re-read a passage of Scripture, so do our children receive new insight with daily reading of The Picture Bible.

Each week the children will be divided into three age-related groups to “QUIZ” over the weekly reading. The Pre-K and K will be asked five questions and the other groups will be asked six questions. If a child gives the correct answer to an adult Coach for each of the questions, they have successfully “Quizzed Out” and a Blast Buck will be given to them. These can be used at the end of Bible Blast to purchase a prize from the prize table. The age group that gets the highest % of quiz-outs, will have first shopping rights.

The objective of quizzing is to bring the family together for regular devotional study of the Scriptures. Bible Blast proceeds through Scripture in chronological order. In addition to the Bible Blast Manual, you will need to purchase at least one copy of The Picture Bible published by David C. Cook and available through Bible Blast - Discipling Families at BibleBlast.com.

The questions that follow are concise and the answers are brief and to the point. A little each day will produce more than a lot on one day. "Inch by inch, Bible Blast is a cinch." Always build on what your child already knows. Review each time, purposely quizzing first on what you are sure your child has already mastered. Everyone learns better when his or her self-esteem is nurtured and review is an opportunity for success. In addition, a rules list is provided to assist you in understanding the manner in which the quiz is conducted. Enclosed in this manual is a listing of “Sword Drill” practice scripture references for KINGDOM BOYS and KINGDOM GIRLS in the 3rd - 5th grade. The parent/facilitator/coach (all interchangeable names for that person that works with your child) may choose other passages. This is a practice sheet only. During the first half of the Bible Blast season, the Old Testament scriptures are chosen. The last half of the season are New Testament scripture. These listings are found in the tab entitled "Optional Memory".

“A picture is worth a thousand words” and The Picture Bible has hundreds of pages for your child’s viewing. This Bible is a time-tested book over decades, giving your children a chance to enjoy colorful pictures while learning God’s word. Keep this family activity light-hearted. This is great family bonding time.

Welcome to Bible Blast! Welcome to the Fun!
